Trailer: Who Killed Beth-Ellen?

Beth-Ellen Vinson's case is the oldest unsolved murder in Raleigh, NC.

Just 17 years old at the time of her brutal murder, Beth-Ellen's friends and family have searched for answers for nearly 30 years. It's time for closure... and justice.

[00:00:00] Beth-Ellen Vincent was 17 years old. This year, she would have turned 47.

[00:00:07] She was my only girl cousin in that immediate family because she has two older brothers.

[00:00:14] So she was like more my younger sister. I'm sorry. I just don't understand the hell it can't be.

[00:00:28] I've not solved it in 29 years.

[00:00:33] Well Beth-Ellen was a student of mine had been since she was about 8 or 10 years old.

[00:00:55] She was a phenomenal tap dancer, dance professional Broadway. That was her dream to dance on Broadway

[00:01:02] and her senior year, she decided to move to Raleigh, get an apartment, get a job and live on her own

[00:01:09] just to see what it would be like living in New York to kind of get that feeling of independence.

[00:01:14] And yeah, I really just don't think that she knew what the world would like.

[00:01:21] And I don't think any of us did honestly. We were all these small town kids that didn't know what it was like.

[00:01:29] But a whole lot more to her than a beauty queen who wanted to get in New York to make it big.

[00:01:34] That was like a reality TV that you're story to get on TV, you know what I'm saying?

[00:01:39] But that's not actually reality.

[00:01:48] You remember where you were when you heard that you went missing?

[00:01:52] Yeah, I was in my college dorm room by myself and I turned on the news and I saw her car

[00:01:58] and I knew something was wrong.

[00:02:00] Because my mom gave her these platforms shoes that she couldn't drive with.

[00:02:05] They were so high, they were from the 70s, they were so old.

[00:02:09] So she would take one off to drive with.

[00:02:11] And that's what I saw in the video and I'm like, I knew something was wrong.

[00:02:18] I told her about going to the Raleigh Detective's house and he asked me, were you ever interviewed?

[00:02:25] And I said no. And he was like, I can't believe all of this stuff you know when you were never interviewed.

[00:02:38] That's the only thing that made any sense back then and still knows something.

[00:02:44] That's why they found a person who did.

[00:02:47] That's why there's crimes not been solved.

[00:02:49] The guy got away with it.

[00:02:53] All right, so this is going to be a very important piece of the puzzle.

[00:02:58] I taught the Christie, you spent a couple years now.

[00:03:01] You know, told her, hey, you know, if anything ever comes up about this and said, do not hesitate.

[00:03:06] Let me know. I'll be more than happy to talk with somebody about this.

[00:03:12] I'm not speaking to anybody but Christie.

[00:03:15] I didn't put myself out there and I know what I'm saying is true.

[00:03:20] I would be more than happy to testify.

[00:03:30] She didn't deserve to go out like that and for nobody, for nobody.

[00:03:37] Well, I happened to her and for no justice to be found.

[00:03:43] And I still understand now anybody can do that.

[00:03:46] So you have 17 year old and keep quiet for 29 years.

[00:03:54] And nobody knows anything.

[00:03:57] You have to deal with somebody. Somebody has to know.

[00:04:02] There has to be fun somewhere.

[00:04:09] Who killed Beth Ellen?
